I had the same barber for over 10 years, and my loyalty to him was unwavering.
Even when I had moved over 1 hour away from the town I used to live in…
I planned my visits to friends and family around getting a haircut at the same barber shop driving at times over 2 hours to just get a haircut.
One day, I really NEEDED a haircut, and I reached out to my barber to make an appointment.
He seemed very busy and was not available, which normally wouldn’t be an issue but THIS WEEK, I was in a pinch…
I was getting married that weekend, and had no choice but to get a haircut.
Getting a haircut became a non-negotiable, and I had to find a way to do it, quickly.
What started as a simple haircut, ended in me seeking another barber that could solve my problem immediately even though I had a good relationship with my current barber.
I had heard of a barber in my network of friends and heard how great they were. I reached out, made an appointment, and showed up.
I walked into the barber shop looking like a deer in the headlights.
Horrified about the possibility of a new barber, that didn’t know where my bald spots were, I couldn’t help but think “ This guy is going to ruin my haircut RIGHT BEFORE MY WEDDING!
But…
I was not prepared for what happened next… And to be fair, neither was my original barber.
After he was done and I looked in the mirror, I noticed I JUST GOT THE BEST HAIRCUT OF MY LIFE!
I realized that I would have never known what was out there waiting for me unless what I thought was an unfortunate situation happened to me.
And that’s exactly why I share this story with you.
See, you too have a barber that has been coasting in your dealership and is not stepping up to the chair to give the best haircut possible.
They have grown complacent and comfortable with the same service to you, and that has served you well, but unfortunately the business has changed and you now know that you need to shift gears in your business in order to obtain the results that you want. .
You and I both know how important it is to keep every dollar you can in your business. So those dollars can keep working for you.
But if you’re like many Dealers, some of those dollars might be leaking out, never to be seen again.

And the truth is if you’re only meeting your F&I Agent, once per month or quarter to review your reinsurance portfolio, then there’s a lot you might be missing out on.
