Reinsurance Products
At F&I Direct, we offer various participation structures for dealers, including Retro, Reinsurance, and Dealer-Owned. One of the most important types is reinsurance, which is a structure that allows you to take full participation of F&I products. This type of participation structure is flexible with investments, loans, and leveraging. It also allows you to maintain control over investments and leverage your assets and you can even use your reinsurance as an asset.
There are two main types of reinsurance, which include Controlled Foreign Corporation (CFC) and Non-Controlled Foreign Corporation (NCFC). CFC is the most popular type of reinsurance. In this type of reinsurance, the dealer takes the first position of the products sold at the dealership and keeps all of the profits that were generated on the premiums. A dealer with a Contractual Liability Insurance Policy (CLIP) has no liability.
In the second type of reinsurance, NCFC, the dealer owns stock in a reinsurance company that also has many other participants. NCFCs often have the financial strength to produce long-term economic benefits.
